DAILY DEVOTIONAL SPARK FROM THE PROVERBS

PROVERBS 29:2

WHOSE IN AUTHORITY ?

We live in a day whereby all people seek some sort of power.    Some seek financial power.   Those who have money have power.    They have power of control to some sort.    You see people such as this have all sorts of ties within the cities for which they dwell.    Then some seek positional power.   These are they who seek to govern and rule.   We see this in all sorts of structures.    We see this in a small scale within community organizations.    People participating in clubs and organizations within the community.    Then in a much larger scale we see this in politics and in the running for major offices within the government.

Our verse reflects the mood of the people can of-times be tempered by the people in power.    When corrupt people come to power it can bring a country down however when good moral clean - cut people are put in office then the mood of the people is much more relaxed.     Watch how this principal plays out in the upcoming elections.    This is a crucial time if there ever was for America.    If the wrong person is elected it could bring our country down.

In choosing a person as authority we must use the Word of God.    It's not who can smile the most or make the most sweetest sounding promises.    Its not even the one who promises comfort and convienence.    The one who can govern this nation best is the one who humbly seeks divine intervention and follows and adheres to the dictates of God's Holy Word.    Sadly, Im not sure we will find that person who is wholeheartedly sold out to the Lord.     Most of the time theres too much bowing to the pressures of the crowd, even if that crowd is the ones going adamently against the ways of the Lord.

Pray and ask God for divine intervention and his mercy on America.    So that our future for divine prosperity can be preserved.     While there may not be a Moses-like candidate we do know that God's divine hand is mightier than the heart of any ruler.

Proverbs 29:2 ¶ When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice: but when the wicked beareth rule, the people mourn.
